At the heart of the mountain range is the village of Manteigas, endowed with immense natural beauty, where the air of the highest point of Continental Portugal is breathed at 2000 meters high. Since the hills have been inhabited by shepherds since 1188, today the village is characterized by the artisanal weaving industry, an ancient tradition handed down from generation to generation.
